Well, this happened.

So, long story short, about a month or so ago, my computer finally died. Don't worry, what I was working on for Shantae vs. Metroid is safe, but, it did delay things. Like, by a lot.

Then a whole bunch of other stuff happened, including one of my longtime friends passing away, some strifes (not Cloud) with other situations (work, mostly), and basically a summer where I was dealing with low energy. I'd wanted to have this comic done by the end of the first year and celebrate a year back, but, obviously we didn't get to it. Sorry about that...

What ended up being the issue was the power supply. Just finally decided "no more" and stopped booting my PC. One repair later, it's obvious that my off-the-shelf model is on its last legs, and a significant upgrade to get more aligned with modern times is needed. And, frankly, for my tablet too. My two primary sources of creating for this site!

But I truly do want to continue here. Once Shantae vs. Metroid is finished, I'm going to roll right into making the next comic, which will likely be either Tifa vs. Tech Support, Karin vs. Batman (FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT) or Sheena vs. Nemona. Whichever one I'm feeling. I'm happy with what I've come up with for either.

After much deliberation, I've decided that I AM going to follow through with Charlie vs. Skyrim. It'll come when it comes, whenever that is. But I think I'm in a good enough place to finally do that comic and not be so dependent on current political badness that ended up coming to fruition. Because we need to laugh, dammit!

Also, about AI... I know it's been something of a thing, but I want you all to know that I have no intention of using AI in my work. All comics will be painstakingly written, edited, and posted by me by hand. My speech and writing might come across as a little stilted, but, I promise you all that it's all me. And it'll always be all me. So, sorry, Skynet! You don't get Graveheart Comics!

Though, when I finally get to posting my own artwork, don't mind the obtrusive watermarks. ¬.¬

Yeah! I'm trying to get the hang of drawing for the upcoming short "That Damn Envelope." There's something I wanna draw myself and I think it'll be really cute. And if it ends up being too janky, I'll just commission someone for it.

Anyway, my motivation is back and, between TTRPG sessions to prep for on the weekend, my focus is returning. I'm doing random do-dad stuff on the side, including working on a new way of doing text balloons and character edits (think masks for you Affinity users like me... no I'm not getting their stupid AI subscriptions either). So while I wait on my new computer, I'm slowly getting back in the game in the background. I hope you love what's to come!
