Hey all, just an update... click more for the details!
Shantae vs. Metroid delayed... but not for long! (I hope)
Yeah, Shantae vs. Metroid is gonna be delayed again. Not for nearly as long, but I do want to re-write this one more time and make it funnier... and flow better.
GOOD NEWS! That means we're likely gonna have a couple extra pages added on to let ideas breathe instead of crunching them all in.
BAD NEWS! Yeah, I've gotta push it back at least one more week with a return in February.
GOOD NEWS! I'm gonna go back to a three times a week update schedule, this time for Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. That gives me my freest work day and two off days to find the time to put up the update. I won't guarantee a time frame when the page goes up, just that it'll go up THAT DAY.
BAD NEWS! I definitely need to script these comics fully...
Yeah, this was the revelation I had a while ago, and it hit me one more time here. Shantae vs. Metroid did NOT have a proper script, like Tifa vs. Chun-Li, Morrigan's Guide to Shipping, or the comeback comic did. A lot of my CCA brethren didn't script and just "rolled with it." I thought I'd give it a try and, frankly, I'm not as good at that. It's easier for an improv comic (I did those without a script), or a One Panel Gag (those too), but for something like a full-on comic? I need something to work off of.
And look at the difference it makes for me. Shantae vs. Metroid has been... a bit messy. Not bad, I don't think, but it's a noticeably messier comic than my previous outings. It's a bit more random and has a lot less flow than Tifa vs. Chun-Li, which I'm still convinced will be the best work I do in comics, but we'll see!
So, yeah. The last few pages are gonna need a re-work.
Charlie vs. Skyrim WILL happen!
So, for those wondering, the comic that followed Tifa vs. Chun-Li was SUPPOSED to be Charlie vs. Skyrim. It was a comic I was really looking forward to, as Charlie had NEVER gotten a starring role in a full comic before. And I thought I had a great idea. I still think it's a great idea! But there's one problem... it's a fairly political comic.
Yes, in light of the current administration's behaviors and misgivings, I really don't wanna keep reminding myself on how awful it is. THAT SAID! I'm also not gonna just not say some of the things I wanna. Nope! I wanna make fun of things, I'm gonna make fun of things! That means I'm probably gonna be focusing away from the aspect I was gonna... but the good news is that Skyrim has a TON of things I can poke fun at! While I may be exhausted by the sheer number of open world games out there, the good news is that a game like Skyrim is RIPE with potential!
So, the comic is gonna still come out... it just won't be the NEXT comic out. Nah-nah! The next comic is actually gonna be...!
Sheena vs. Nemona!

SHEENA VS. NEMONA!!!
That's right! We thought she was fired, but Sheena's got at least one comic in her, and she's gonna go against the supportive bestie battle maniac from Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: Nemona!
SYNOPSIS: "Sheena is trying to enjoy a simple life with her boyfriend, Lloyd, when suddenly, this obsessively battle-crazed Pokémon trainer shows up, wanting to go head-to-head with the best "mon trainer" she can find! How badly is this gonna go? About as well as Colette and a brick wall!"
Karin's first comic is also no longer going to be Karin vs. Stardew Valley. I've decided that simply sticking to sprites just won't cut it, so, I'm gonna be hand-drawing something I can use a bit more reliably.
But somewhere in there, we'll also release "That Damn Envelope," a short staring Tifa and Cloud! With apologies in advance to the Clerith shippers out there... actually, not really. Just... heads up. ^_~
And... that's that! See you in February!
